Leading the Charge highlighted at MCS event for Green Careers Week

Coinciding with Green Careers Week on 7-12 November, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) invited stakeholders with interests and expertise in the domestic renewable energy sector to discuss the roles they are playing in our shared drive to upskill the industry and ensure competency through robust and effective training.

Jim Johnson, North West Regional Manager at ECA, was one of the industry leaders invited to take part, and spoke about ‘Leading the Charge’. Jim explained how the work of installers is crucial in ensuring the transition happens, but urgent progress is needed to keep up with the pace of change required for the safe and efficient switch to an electrified future. This progress requires advances in innovation, better multi-disciplinary working, recruiting the future workforce now and a focus on upskilling.

Paul Reeve CEnv goes on to mention the industry leaders and organisations featured in Leading the Charge, sharing how the digital series aims to inspire and support the sector, calling for collaboration and joined-up regulation from government to help the electrotechnical industry face the challenges that achieving a net zero future presents.
